Our Child Care Programs
babies
Learning begins from birth. Our 'Bindi Bindi' program is designed for children aged 6 - 18 months.
Every stage of a child's life is unique, but the initial years have a profound impact on their lifelong journey. To provide high-quality childcare, we have curated our own baby care program thoughtfully designed to provide the gentlest environment for your little ones. As they take their first steps in the world outside the womb, we ensure they are surrounded by calming and safe spaces that encourage their sensory development. Understanding that every baby has their rhythm, our passionate educators offer individualised care. This includes diligently keeping track of each infant's daily routines, from feeding to sleeping patterns, ensuring parents are always in the loop. We understand the anxieties of leaving your precious one in someone else's care, and we prioritise open communication and trust. But care isn't just about ensuring they are fed and rested. Our baby program introduces them to a world of sounds, textures, and colours, laying the foundation for their cognitive and physical growth. Gentle activities are introduced to stimulate their curiosity and motor skills. We believe in nurturing not just the body, but the mind and soul of every baby, giving them the best start to life.
toddlers
Run, walk, climb, jump, explore! Find out about our exciting 'Yonka' room program.
The toddler years are a whirlwind of energy, curiosity, and rapid growth. It's a time of firsts - first words, first steps, and the inklings of independence. At our early learning centre, we've crafted a program that fuels this innate sense of discovery, ensuring every toddler thrives in a vibrant, supportive environment. Our active learning curriculum is the heartbeat of this programme. We've seamlessly blended play with early education principles to foster fun and foundational skills. Within our walls, little hands construct towering blocks, and every corner becomes a stage for imaginative play. It's about learning, yes, but more importantly, it's about the joy of discovery. Beyond academics, our toddler program places a heavy emphasis on nurturing social skills. With guided group interactions, children learn the essentials of friendship — sharing, taking turns, and managing their budding emotions. Our team of experts has also curated activities that enhance motor skills with safe environments designed for the active exploration that toddlers dearly love.
kindy
Our 'Kwilena' program is here for children stepping into school or already attending school.
As children transition from toddlers to kindergarteners, they stand at the threshold of formal learning, with the world stretching out as a vast canvas of possibilities. At Alkimos Early Learning Centre, our Kindy program is meticulously crafted to create a warm, welcoming environment that connects their curiosity to structured learning, ensuring they step into school with confidence and enthusiasm. Our curriculum dives deep into the world of pre-academic skills. In our classrooms, questions are encouraged, creativity is celebrated, and every child's voice is heard. We believe that true growth goes beyond textbooks. Through art, music, and drama activities, children are given avenues to express themselves, harnessing their imagination and channelling their energies productively. Additionally, we introduce them to life skills, imparting lessons on responsibility, time management, and basic problem-solving. In our Kindy program, every day is an adventure, every lesson a treasure, and every child a budding scholar ready to take on the world.
Schoolies
Find out about our Before and After School & Vacation Care programs
The transition from kindergarten to formal schooling heralds a significant phase in a child's life, filled with newfound responsibilities and challenges. Our Schoolies Program is tailored for school children up to grade 6, offering a safe haven where they can balance academic pursuits with recreational endeavours, all under a guiding hand. Post-school hours are crucial. They can be a mix of relaxation, hobby exploration, and, sometimes, academics. Recognising this, our after-school care provides an environment conducive to focused study and unwinding. Children can delve into homework with our assistance, ensuring they grasp concepts and complete assignments. Our program emphasises character-building and nurturing attributes like leadership, resilience, and team spirit. Here, friendships blossom, hobbies are honed, and young minds recharge. With our Schoolies Program, children get the best of both worlds—a space to excel academically and a platform to express, explore, and evolve.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between a childcare centre and a daycare centre? These terms are often interchangeably used; however, they vary in contexts. A childcare centre is a facility that provides care and structures educational experiences for children. On the other hand, daycare centres emphasise the care aspect more than the educational component. These places are typically where children can be looked after while parents are occupied by work or other commitments.
What ages do you cater for? Our service has four rooms which cater for children aged between 6 weeks to 10 year olds. Every room offers age appropriate activities and environments where all children can strive and develop their emerging skills.
What are the educator's qualifications? The service has 3 registered teachers that guide and drive our programmes for all the age groups. We have Diploma qualified room leaders with Certificate 3 to support the rooms.
What are the routines? In the babies room, we support the families routines as each child may have different sleep cycles and eating schedules. As they get to the next room, which is usually around 2 years old, their routines merge to a more typical pattern. This room still caters for individual needs of all children. The Kindy room, which is a 3 to 4 year old room has a 3 year old programme plus a school readiness programme which prepares the children for when they begin pre primary.
Does the service follow sun safety guidelines? Our service Sun Policy is developed in conjunction with the Cancer Foundation. During the hotter months, children have the opportunity to play outside when the UV rating is low and when the temperature is below 32 degrees. In extremely hotter months we have outdoor activities inside our well ventilated rooms.
What do I need to bring? For babies we suggest to bring their comforter, bottles and nappies, cot sheets and a hat. We prepare all food onsite. From 2 years onwards we ask you to bring a labelled water bottle, spare clothes, cot sheets and a hat.
What type of food do you serve? We cater for all allergies and dietary requirements. All our food is cooked onsite by a qualified cook.
